Phillips to speak at the Game Developers Conference 2016- 12/8/15
Phillips has been selected as a speaker for the Game Developers Conference 2016, taking place from March 14th to the 18th at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
Her speech, entitled "From Total War to Assassin's Creed: Music for Mobile Games," will focus on the art of music composition mobile games, which are quickly becoming one of the most popular and succesful gaming platforms. Read more.

Phillips composes the music for the Call of Champions MOBA game - 11/18/15
Composer Winifred Phillips recently completed work on the music of the Call of Champions video game, developed by Spacetime Studios. Call of Champions is an action game in the popular Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) genre. The game was developed by an accomplished group of top industry veterans, including developers responsible for the famous Wing Commander series and Star Wars Galaxies.

Phillips' book now available in Japanese - 8/26/15
Composer WInifred Phillips' book, A Composer's Guide to Game Music, was released today in Japan in its newly-published Japanese-language edition. O'Reilly Japan has published the Japanese softcover of Phillips' book in Japan under the title, "Game Sound Production Guide: Composer Techniques for Interactive Music."
Phillips' book is the first English language book about game music to be translated into Japanese and sold in Japan. Read more.
Phillips composes music for Total War Battles: Kingdom - 8/12/15
Phillips' latest project is music for Total War Battles: Kingdom, developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega. Phillips joined the music composition team at Creative Assembly for this project, and composed atmospheric medieval-inspired music for this strategy game. Phillips' music for Total War Battles: Kingdom has already been recognized with two Gold Medals from the Global Music Awards.
For Total War Battles: Kingdom, Phillips' music was performed by a live ensemble comprised of some of the best and most accomplished musicians performing with historically authenic medieval instruments and techniques. Phillips' music is available for listening in the composer's blog. Read more.

Phillips' book, A Composer's Guide to Game Music, has been selected by the Nonfiction Authors Association as a Gold winner of the Nonfiction Book Awards. The book was selected as a winner in the "Arts, Music, and Photography" category.
The Nonfiction Authors Association presents Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards in its Nonfiction Book Awards competition to honor the best book-length publications in an array of nonfiction genres. Read more.
